SMC Networks unveil new product lines

SMC Middle East, part of SMC Networks, is making its mark felt again this year at Gitex 2003. The company has launched it's new Digital Media server line for the consumer segment and networking line for enterprises at Gitex 2003.

SMC Middle East, part of SMC Networks, the networking major is making its mark felt again this year at Gitex 2003. The company has launched it's new Digital Media server line for the consumer segment and networking line for enterprises at Gitex 2003.

"The digital media servers are networked entertainment servers that stream, play and share FM and internet audio, pictures and video to simple, portable, audio-only devices. It connects to the wireless network for access to internet resources, broadband provider products and programs, photos stored on a computer's hard drive, movies on the computer's DVD player and more, it links to entertainment devices, including televisions and stereo receivers, via standard A/V connectors," says Shahid Ali, regional sales manager, ME.

"We are targeting entertainment companies like post-production houses and consumers who want to network all their digital entertainment devices," adds Ali.

SMC Networks is also displaying its networking solutions, which include Ethernet network adapters; unmanaged switches; manageable desktop, rack mountable, chassis-based Layer 2 & Layer 3 switches; security appliances to multi-industry standards broadband and wireless LAN products.

"We've had a good and mixed response in Hall9 at Gitex this year. We've been at Gitex for more than 12 years now, and this year we are highlighting our new consumer and networking products line," says Jamshed Mehdi, managing director SMC Networks Middle East.

With over 30 years in the networking space, the company is headquartered in Hauppauge, New York and has offices and has extensive distribution networks in Europe, Australia, Asia, Japan and the Middle East.
