STME expands storage in Pakistan

STME, the Middle East enterprise storage company, has signed a partnership deal with AMZ Pakistan, an SME storage solutions provider, to expand its market reach in emerging markets like Pakistan.

STME, the Middle East enterprise storage company, announced today it has signed a partnership deal with AMZ Pakistan - a storage solutions provider for small and medium enterprises (SME) to expand its market reach in Pakistan.

The company is partnering with the the Pakistani IT as a value-added reseller across the country based on increasing demand in Pakistan for storage solutions. AMZ and STME jointly estimate that Pakistan's storage market potential could exceed US$50 million.

"The storage market in Pakistan is currently going through a period of transition now that awareness levels are on the rise among enterprise level decision-makers," says Yasha Afghan, senior manager Convergence, AMZ Pakistan. "We are proud to have entered this partnership with STME, which is widely acknowledged as the Middle East's premier enterprise storage company. As a result, AMZ Pakistan's customers will benefit from STME solutions," adds Afghan.

STME believes its new partnership would enhance its reach into the Pakistani market with the assistance of AMZ Pakistan's in-country support, while AMZ Pakistan can sell STME's storage solutions. AMZ started operations in 1996.

"Companies in Pakistan face a number of storage and information management challenges, ranging from updating legacy equipment and migrating from paper-based records keeping to devising sophisticated back-up procedures and managing thousands of e-mails received every day," says Andrew Calthorpe, senior corporate vice president, STME.

The company is targeting vertical sectors such as banking and finance, telecom, software development companies, and retail conglomerates, where data storage and maintenance is critical for day-to-day operations.

"With our new relationship, our partners at AMZ Pakistan will be able to provide storage solutions to the hundreds of enterprises throughout Pakistan that require better data protection and management for increased business advantage," adds Calthorpe.
