The proliferation of Bluetooth technology continues unabated with the launch of Logitech's cordless mouse-and-keyboard combination, the diNovo Media Desktop.

The package includes a slim line keyboard (minus the number pad), rechargeable optical mouse, MediaPad and Bluetooth hub. Providing a wireless bridge between the desktop PC and Bluetooth devices, such as mobile phones or PDAs, is the role of the Bluetooth hub. While the MediaPad serves as a number pad, smart calculator and Bluetooth remote control centre. Utilising the Bluetooth connectivity, any of the components can be used within a range of 30 feet from the desktop PC.

"For technology trend setters, the diNovo Media Desktop means no compromises," said David Henry, Logitech senior vice president for control devices. "This product sets its owner apart, with its compelling design, innovation and extraordinary feature set."

Included with the MediaPad Bluetooth remote commander is software that can be seen on the desktop PC's display from a distance, enabling people to use the MediaPad to select and listen to music or to view video clips. It also lets people control the volume of their music or video.

The diNovo Media Desktop Bluetooth hub enables people to synchronise calendar, addresses and other information between the desktop PC and a mobile phone or PDA. Mobile phone users can also rely on the hub to wirelessly share photos captured with a camera-equipped Bluetooth phone by transferring them to the PC.
