ComGuard partners with NetScreen

ComGuard today announced a partnership with NetScreen Technologies to develop a regional distribution strategy, besides investing in a 'proof-of-concept' lab at DIC for NetScreen products and services.

ComGuard, the regional IT security solutions provider, today announced a closer partnership with NetScreen Technologies, a developer of internet security systems, to develop a regional distribution and channel strategy for NetScreen products and services.

The two companies said that offerings for professional, support and training services for NetScreen appliances would be rolled out to customers through resellers across the region immediately. ComGuard will distribute NetScreen products to the Middle East and Africa market through fully authorized NetScreen resellers.

Under the terms of the agreement, ComGuard will invest AED500,000 (US$136,142) to construct and staff a 'proof-of-concept' lab and training facility at its Dubai Internet City (DIC) headquarters. The lab and training facility will enable ComGuard staff to test customer configurations and new NetScreen software releases, as well as training services for its customers, staff and resellers in the region.

"We are impressed with NetScreen's security solutions and have decided to partner with them to distribute their products regionally. Comguard completes the circle by also becoming an authorized training facility for our customers and resellers in the region," says Daniel Nufer, sales & marketing director, ComGuard.

"NetScreen's relationship with ComGuard strengthens our capability and reputation in the regions technology market. This partnership enables us to support our resellers and customers," says Steven Brown, NetScreen's regional manager, for the Middle East and Northern Africa(MENA).

The company added that ComGuard met NetScreen's requirements in the areas of certified instructors, training facilities and lab equipment.

"Adding an onsite service and support capability, backed by our skilled staff, makes the NetScreen security solution attractive for governments, enterprises and resellers in the region. We will work with a broad spectrum of leading partners in the region to build and broaden NetScreen's sales channel," adds Nufer.
