Texas-based network infrastructure provider, InterNetwork Experts, has secured a deal to provide an IP telephony system for the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) in Iraq.

The move will see the vendor designing and deploying communications infrastructure for the CPA's facilities in Basra, Mosul and Al Hillah.

InterNetwork, a subsidiary of US technology group, I-Sector Corporation, will also provide support for the network for twelve months.

"We hope that our performance here will lead to additional opportunities to provide communications infrastructure services for Spacelink and the Office of the CPA as well as other federal entities," said David Peoples, CP, federal division, in a statement.

The contract was secured through SpaceLink International, which supplies satellite and wireless network solutions to US governmental organisations.
