Epson is launching a standalone photo printer, the EPSON Stylus Photo R300 printer, in the Middle East market aimed at digital camera users. The company claims the Stylus Photo R300 printer is compatible with the widest selection of digital cameras available in the region.

"Capitalizing on the recent trend of using digital cameras and mobile phones with built in cameras to capture images instantly, Epson has introduced the standalone Stylus Photo R300 photo printer to give our consumers in the Middle East more flexibility than ever before. Consumers in the region demand the latest and most technologically advanced printing solutions, be it for personal or professional use and we are confident that the Stylus Photo R300 will be well received here", said Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East .

The printer's functions include printing of high-resolution photos, personalizing CDs and the storage of images without the need for a PC. It comes with an easy to use front-loading output tray to print images directly onto the face of a CD or DVD., making it easy to create professional-looking colorful CDs or covers.

The Stylus Photo R300 is equipped with a new printer engine for high-speed output, can come with an optional LCD colour and features MicroPiezo print head technology with 90 nozzles per colour guaranteeing high definition lab style photos and dramatically faster throughput.

Apart from offering wireless connectivity through a Bluetooth interface, the printer also supports wireless LAN 802.11b through an optional EPSONNet 802.11b wireless external print server, for longer range communication and networking between devices. This allows higher bandwidth data to be transferred faster and can be used to transfer higher resolution images between users via a USB (universal serial bus) interface.
