As part of its efforts to increase its presence further in the Middle East, broadcast solutions provider Encoda Systems has announced a major deal with ARA Media Services (AMS), the sales house for MBC, MBC2, Al Arabiya, Showtime & Future Television, MBC FM, and Panorama FM. AMS, based in Jeddah, is one of the largest media sales operations in the Middle East.

Encoda's channel management solution Broadcast Master, which is being supplied as part of the five year contract, will allow AMS to optimise sales revenue from commercial air time on behalf of its clients.

"Our main objective was to find a solution that would reduce the manual processes involved in selling air-time," confirms Gregory Llinas, COO of AMS. "Broadcast Master will allow us to do just that by reconciling the sale of commercial spots automatically. "By avoiding the delay involved with manual input, we will be able to continue to sell air-time until minutes before transmission," he continues. "This increased flexibility means we can secure the best and most appropriate deal for advertisers while ensuring that the value of our clients' most important asset - air-time - is maximised."

As well as the integration of AMS with MBC Group channels, Encoda also supplies its solutions to the likes of ART, MBC, and Taj TV in the Middle East. "The Gulf region is an increasingly important area for innovative broadcasters seeking to provide the best service possible for viewers via modern digital facilities," comments Angelika Bergmann, EMEA president of Encoda.

"Our involvement with initiatives such as the recent Middle East Broadcast Forum for example, underlines our regional commitment to continue to supply software that helps organisations in the area maximise their revenue streams through efficient and cost effective utilisation of their assets."
