Qatar Airways is to lease three Airbus A330-200s from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS). The first two will enter service early next year, with the third coming online in June 2005.

QR currently leases an A320 from GECAS and it has already agreed to take delivery of two new A330-200 aircraft from the leasing company in the summer of 2004. It will now receive two more next year as well, one in January and one in the following month.

"We are very pleased to extend our relationship with one of the leading carriers in the Middle East, Qatar Airways," says Norman Liu, executive vice president, commercial operations for GECAS.
