Chinamexmart, a complete Chinese style town, with China’s largest commercial complex to be set up outside of the country, is all set to open in Dubai in September 2004, says Hao Feng, general manager of Chinamex, during the 2nd Chinese Commodities Fair Sharjah at Expo Centre Sharjah and Chinamex. Spanning about 150 000 m2 and housing 20 basic commercial centres, 13 service areas, one office area and one business centre, Chinamexmart will be home to nearly 4000 qualified Chinese manufacturers and enterprises and tens of thousands of products. The 20 commercial centres will cover about 110 000 m2 and will feature a wide range of products. “The mart combines modern logistics with integrated commercial and trade management practices. To facilitate its logistics needs, two warehouse facilities of 15 000 and 30 000 m2 each, equipped with normal and special conditioning will be constructed,” Feng points out. “We are building our largest and permanent trade platform for the Middle East, Eastern Europe and African markets. Once this projects takes-off, trade buyers will no longer need to fly to China to source competitively priced Chinese products. The general public will be not only offered a wide variety of Chinese goods, but also a taste of Chinese culture and cuisine through various Chinese restaurants and entertainment outlets,” says Feng. Chinamexmart will give Dubai residents the opportunity to experience Chinese culture and cuisine.
