Belgium-based company Trislot has hit the UAE construction market with a first: stainless steel architectonic screens. These sleek screens have been a big hit in Europe, proving to be the perfect solution to covering ugly air-conditioning units. Nico Gheysen, sales manager of Trislot, revealed to Construction Week the success of this unique design: “Trislot enjoyed a turnover last year of US $2.4 million, with the more exclusive end of the European market really taking to these stainless steel screens. We’ve worked on a number of projects throughout the continent, including a museum in Berlin that installed 1 km of architectonic screen in the floor to cover the air-con system. And at around $300/m2 – depending on the treatment – that was a major project. “We are actually the first company to manufacture stainless steel screens. You can find aluminium or galvanise steel, but the exclusivity of stainless steel is proving to be a real winner and Trislot have expanded from the screens to also produce staircases and other interior features.”
