Saudi Arabian company, The Saudi Marketing Company Ltd. Lebanon Branch, (Aswad Group) is to develop a mall in Beirut, Lebanon. The Beirut mall will be the first in the country to have a “real mall concept” the company says. “Replacing the old Ghandour factory, Shiyah, off Tayyouneh roundabout, Beirut Mall promises to be the most prestigious shopping/entertainment mall, offering its visitors an affordable day of fun and shopping experience,” the company claims. With over 50 000 m2 of space, Beirut Mall will be a fully air-conditioned shopping area. The developer has confirmed that 8000 m2 have been reserved for the giant hypermarket, FARM superstores, and Cinnzeo. In addition to the FARM superstore, Beirut Mall will offer the whole family a one-stop shop for all needs, from home goods and furniture to clothing and entertainment, as well as a food court with a variety of restaurants and children’s entertainment. The facility will also feature multi-purpose halls for weddings and private functions. The mall will have three underground parking floors, with space for over 650 cars. With the mall occupying only 40% of the site, it will be surrounded by landscaped gardens. Design for the project was undertaken by M/S A-Consult, Dolly Debs Braidi, and Societe Mouawad-Edde.
