Imation introduces promotional scheme for end users

Imation has launched its new Backup & Win scheme that offers end users free gifts for purchases of network tape products

Imation is looking to grow loyalty among its business end users, with the launch of a new incentive programme. The ‘Backup and Win’ promotion offers network end users who purchase Imation tape products the chance to go into a prize draw and also gives them points that can be redeemed for prizes.

The promotion runs from the start of September through until the end of February, and covers Imation DLTIV, SuperDLT, LTO Ultrium 1 and LTO Ultrium 2 tape cartridges. Buyers of these products in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Egypt will be able to register for the draw and redeem their points at a dedicated Imation website, that will go live on 15th September.

Alvaro Valdez, regional manager, Middle East & East Africa, Imation Middle East FZE explained: “Imation sees the campaign as an instrument to differentiate Imation offerings in this market segment and to stimulate sales by enticing customers to provision themselves with the respective products during the promotional period.

“The promotions’ objective is to benefit end-users by stimulating the extended usage of highly reliable data storage products for back-up and archival operations and to enlarge market opportunities for distribution partners, such as VAD, VAR, data specialist dealers and resellers,” he added.

Promotional packages for the scheme have begun shipping to resellers already. One of the main selling points of the campaign for resellers is that they do not have to do any extra work on the campaign. The promotional packages highlight the prizes to be won, and a unique code inside the pack allows customers to register themselves for the programme. Administration of points and delivery of free gifts is then handled by a third party company.
