Soros ads cost $185,000

Hungarian-born billionaire and philanthropist George Soros ran full-page ads in U.S. newspapers, challenging the Bush administration’s case for the war in Iraq.

Hungarian-born billionaire and philanthropist George Soros ran full-page ads in U.S. newspapers, challenging the Bush administration’s case for the war in Iraq.

The ads in The New York Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Houston Chronicle,were titled, “When the nation goes to war, the people deserve the truth.” Soros is the founder of philanthropic organizations, active in 50 countries focusing on education, health, human rights and economic reform.

The ads, cost $185,000, and were co-sponsored by philanthropists Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman.
