British Airways has suspended all of its flights to Saudi Arabia until further notice. The carrier said that the decision was due to heightened security concerns in the region.

BA cancelled its flights today (13th August) from London Heathrow to both Riyadh and Jeddah. The decision followed discussions earlier in the day with the British government's Department for Transport.

“As a matter of precaution we have decided to suspend all flights to Saudi Arabia for the time being and we will continue to liaise closely with the British government,” says Geoff Want, BA’s director of safety & security.
