HP offers more Bang for its buck

In a summer of movie sequels, HP is dishing up a sequel of its own for its digital imaging and printing products. In a move executives have described as Big Bang II, the vendor has launched over 150 new products in its biggest-ever product launch.

In a summer of movie sequels, HP is dishing up a sequel of its own for its digital imaging and printing products. In a move executives have described as Big Bang II, the vendor has launched over 150 new products in its biggest-ever product launch.

Big Bang I was last year’s overhaul of the company’s lineup of printers, this year it is revamping its entire consumer lineup with a strategy aimed at making it easier and simpler to combine different products – cameras, printers and PCs – and make them work together.

“Today marks a new beginning for consumers who have been turned off by complicated technology,” said Carly Fiorina, HP chairman and chief executive officer in a statement. “HP is using its unparalleled consumer knowledge and technical inventiveness to cut through the complexity and make technology a positive ingredient in people’s lives – a way to connect, discover, entertain and get things done.”

New products include the HP PSC 2510 Photosmart all-in-one device, an all-in-one printer, scanner, fax and copy device with wireless functionality, a DVD movie writer which allows you to turn VHS tapes into DVDs, and the HP Pavilion Notebook zd7000 series.

For the Middle East, HP previewed some of the products announced this week at its Catch the Wave event in July. “The Middle East is a very important region to HP,” Amr Hassan, general manager of HP Middle East, said at the event.
