Al Hamid Group to drive Great Plains

Al Hamid Group’s Abu Dhabi Motors has implemented Microsoft Business Solutions’ Great Plains 7.0 as part of a drive to fully automate its financial, sales, purchasing and inventory management processes.

Al Hamid Group’s Abu Dhabi Motors has implemented Microsoft Business Solutions’ Great Plains 7.0 as part of a drive to fully automate its financial, sales, purchasing and inventory management processes.

Abu Dhabi Motors (ADM) realised that by implementing Great Plains 7.0, the solution offered them a number of key benefits. Benefits included are better cost control, faster, more responsive tracking of inventory including cars and automobile parts, as well as automated sales analysis reports that enable managers to track levels of performance and plan for the future more effectively.

Jamal Shihadeh, financial controller of Abu Dhabi Motors said the decision to adopt Great Plains was due to the company’s need for a workable solution, with strong IT support.

“We needed a solution that could quickly integrate with our existing systems, provide a total overview of our operations and deliver full business intelligence throughout our organisation,” said Shihadeh. “Microsoft Business Solutions offered the right blend of strong local support, business focus and cutting-edge technology.”

Additional benefits to ADM from Great Plains include the capacity to accurately monitor interactions with distributors and customers, which has resulted in significantly improved cash flow through ensuring tight fiscal control across its diversified network. Through inventory monitoring, the company can match orders to stock across the region, to serve customers more efficiently and as an extra bonus, the software has allowed ADM to integrate its back office system to BMW’s global Internet-based ordering system.

Following the Al Hamid Group’s decision to update it operations using Microsoft Great Plains 7.0, work began swiftly with support of MDS Solutions, one of Microsoft Business Solution’s partners in the region. MDS Solutions continues to provide training and consultancy services to Al Hamid Group, to ensure they get full value from the implementation.
