Bahgat Group has brought it greater management control to its supply chain with the implementation of a customer service and distribution system based on Oracle’s E-Business Suite.

The Egyptian industrial organisation has deployed Oracle's TeleService, Service Online, Advanced Scheduler, Spare Part Management and Service Intelligence modules to streamline its supply chain.

The Oracle modules will enable Bahgat Group to better meet the needs of its customers by monitoring more effectively its extensive inventory list. The software is expected to improve the efficiency of more than 1000 employees.

“It is important that we use a technology system that allows us to have a seamless processes for both internal and customer-facing activities,” said Ahmed Kamal, service manager, Bahgat Group.

“As we are in the businesses of exporting products such as furniture to various markets, it is vital to know how many of each item we have in stock, when material deliveries are arriving and what our customers’ specific needs are. Oracle has provided us with a means to offer a wholly streamlined procedure from the warehouse to the point-of-sale,” he adds.

Bahgat Group's customer service and distribution system complemented the already installed Oracle Financials and Manufacturing modules. The group opted for Oracle software due to the vendor’s strong local presence in the market and the software’s full Arabic support.

“Bahgat Group has extended their initial technology partnership with Oracle from the Financials and Oracle Manufacturing modules that were previously implemented to a comprehensive e-business infrastructure,” explains Atef Helmy, managing director of Oracle Egypt.

“With Egypt’s burgeoning retail and manufacturing sectors rapidly advancing, we are pleased to see the Bahgat Group is developing [a] competitive advantage. We are confident that the Oracle modules implemented will result in more integrated business processes and greater savings for the Bahgat Group,” he adds.

Oratech, one of Oracle’s local partners, implemented the project.
