Power protection company Tripp Lite is extending its portfolio for the Middle East with the introduction of the SmartOnline 10kVA UPS rack/tower system into the region. The device is aimed at protecting servers, PBX systems, ATMs and other applications.

“The higher level of protection provided by Tripp Lite’s on-line technology will win favour with network managers and IT directors whose goal is to protect their mission-critical equipment and increase uptime as well as reduce data loss and equipment damage,” said Vipin Sharma, Tripp Lite’s director of business development for EMEA.

While never the most glamorous of items, UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems are needed by businesses and organisations to keep networks running in the event of any problems with the power supply. The Tripp Lite SmartOnline system is an online UPS system which means it provides a continuous sine wave power supply to the network. It can be sued with Tripp Lite’s PowerAlert software which allows the network manager to save open files and perform shutdowns from remote locations.
