Internet Security Systems (ISS) is catering to the security needs of both mobile and fixed users with its RealSecure Desktop version 7.0 solutions, which offers protection to laptops, wireless LANs and hone offices, as well as fixed and mobile desktops.

The solution combines a commercial strength firewall, an intrusion prevention system and application protection to tackle security threats. Furthermore, the product provides network, application and VPN behaviour analysis to monitor all traffic and further minimise the threat of attack. RealSecure Desktop automatically rebuffs any suspicious or malicious traffic.

The solution can also be integrated into ISS’ centralised management platform, SiteProtector, which in turn can deliver higher levels of protection across networks, desktops and servers. Furthermore, RealSecure Desktop 7.0 will regularly be updated with the latest threat and vulnerability information.

“ISS’ RealSecure Desktop 7.0 delivers an advanced layer of protection that not only protects the desktop itself, but extends protection to the entire corporate network,” says Greg Adams, vice president of product development for ISS.

“In many cases, remote workers have literally walked worms and viruses right past the corporate firewall when they bring their laptops into the office, infecting the entire network because they don't maintain adequate desktop protection. RealSecure Desktop 7.0 prevents these dangerous mishaps with a powerful combination of technology and security intelligence,” he adds.
