Oracle is hoping to increase its market share in the Middle East with the launch of the latest version of its e-business software suite, 11i.9. The new version features over 900 enhancements aimed at vertical industry sectors.

Industries targeted by the new enhancements include aerospace, financial services, government, health care and high-tech. “One of the reasons that the Oracle E-Business suite is the most widely deployed ERP solution in this region is because we have first-hand expertise in the specific industries that rely on our solution,” said Oracle Middle East’s vice president Husam Dajani. “From banking to healthcare to manufacturing to telecoms, no solutions provider has a more diverse or prominent customer base than Oracle, and that’s resulted from our sector-specific knowledge and investment in developing software to meet the needs of those sectors.”

For the financial sector, Oracle is providing enhanced call centre support and multi-currency features, as well as customer behaviour prediction, and sales and marketing content creation. Enhancements for government customers include multi-channel citizen service management and procurement support for dual budgetary controls.
