Emirates Internet and Multimedia (EIM) is once again waiving the registration fee for people who subscribe to the monopoly telecommunications operator’s Internet dial-up service between August 4 and September 3. By waiving the AED 100 registration charge, EIM, aims to increase the country’s lead of the highest number of Internet users in the region.

“Dial-up is the most common form of Internet access for the home user and this is a great opportunity for those who have been thinking about connecting to the Internet, but have not yet taken that initial step to register,” says Maroua Naim, GM, EIM.

Although the most basic, the dial-up package is the most popular choice among home users and small businesses in the counrty. “This promotion is another example of our efforts to continuously increase the number of subscribers in the UAE and retain our position as the regional leader in Internet penetration,” explans Naim. “The higher the number of users that log onto the Net, the more pervasive important initiatives including e-government and Internet in Schools will become,” he adds.
