Altajir Glass has completed the rollout of a third, Dhs100 million production line at its Jebel Ali plant.

Completed in 85 days, the line takes output at the facility to 2.2 million bottles per day, from 1.5 million previously. It also allows Altajir to boost glass melting capacity to 540 metric tonnes per day and increase the range of bottle sizes that the plant can produce.

“We are very pleased with the rapid progress we have achieved on this project,” said Khalil Altajir, Altajir Group’s deputy chairman. “This was made possible thanks to the dedication and commitment of our contractors who have worked around the clock to ensure work is completed on time and to the highest standards.”

Altajir Glass exports bottles to over 40 countries and manufactures under contract for brands such as Coke and Pepsi. The company says it has enough orders to keep its production lines busy for the next five years.
