Saudi Arabia awards gas deal to Shell

Saudi Arabia granted today (July 16) a natural gas exploration and production deal to a consortium that includes Royal-Dutch Shell, Total, and Saudi Aramco, reported the Saudi Arabian Press Agency (SPA).

Saudi Arabia granted today (July 16) a natural gas exploration and production deal to a consortium that includes Royal-Dutch Shell, Total, and Saudi Aramco, reported the Saudi Arabian Press Agency (SPA).

A source close to the negotiations told Dow Jones Newswires, the deal was worth an estimated US $2 billion, with 40% of the venture going to Shell and 30% going to each of Saudi Aramco and TotalFinaElf (TOT).
