BenQ is doubling its range of projectors available in the Middle East to meet the rapid growth in the meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition (MICE) sector in the region. The vendor has launched six models aimed at the commercial and educational sectors plus its flagship home cinema projector, the PE8700.

The company sees a number of factors driving the MICE sector’s growth in the region, including the growing success of government and business organisations in attracting and encouraging international conferences here.

“The conference market is expanding rapidly in the Middle East, which creates a knock-on demand for projectors and cinema-quality presentations,” said Manish Bakshi, director and chief operating officer, BenQ Middle East. “One of our professional advantages as one of the most agile technology companies in the region is that we can adapt our output quickly to meet this demand.”

“The first BenQ projector was introduced in the Middle East in 2001 and since then sales have skyrocketed,” said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ, Middle East. “During the first half of this year alone, our projector sales have grown by 200% on the same time last year.”

The new models all offer the latest in advanced digital light processing-double date rate (DLP-DDR) technology, which is Texas Instruments’ new generation digital optical technology, and offers a contrast ratio of 2000: 1 and less degradation of quality over time. The models also feature BenQ’s own “sealed optical engine design” and dynamic colour management system (DCMS) technology, which gives users active colour adjusting technology.
