Cyprus Airways has appointed George Kapello as its head of its operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Kapello will be looking to further boost the already growing traffic on CY's Larnaca to Riyadh route. Last passenger numbers grew by 6.2% on the Riyadh route, and they were up 9.9% across the carrier’s network.

"Our overall passenger growth is staggering and the operation in Saudi Arabia is playing its part. We have recorded passenger growth of 6% in Riyadh at a time when the worldwide figures for other airlines have decreased by 4%, down further in the case of Europe," says Kapello.

"Passengers in Saudi Arabia clearly appreciate our new aircraft, fresh livery, stunning new uniforms and the tremendous inflight entertainment we have introduced.

"Passenger numbers are extremely encouraging during some of the toughest times the industry has seen. We certainly aim to continue the healthy trend," he adds.
