British Airways launched an e-ticketing service across the Middle East effective July 5, which is now available to customers in Bahrain, Qatar and Dammam and to be followed by other Middle East markets later this year.

Passengers are now able to book and pay for tickets in the usual way at the British Airways Travel Shop and will receive a receipt rather than the usual paper ticket. The receipt will contain a summary of the passengers’ entire journey. The information will also be stored on the British Airways database.

Alterations to an itinerary are possible up to 30 minutes before a passenger’s minimum check-in time subject to the normal fare restrictions.

“Electronic ticketing is rapidly becoming the new standard in air travel convenience and is an enhancement to the service British Airways provides its customers in Bahrain, Qatar and Dammam,” said Harvey Lines, British Airways area commercial manager.
