Air Miles has relocated its web-based application portal to ASPGulf’s UAE hosting centre as it looks to provide its members with a faster service. Previously hosted in the US, the loyalty programme provider opted to move its portal to the Middle East due to the maturing of the region’s IT infrastructure and the additional security it can provide.

“The Air Miles web application portal was previously hosted in the US… [However,] we now have the confidence to host the web portal locally due to the build up in IT infrastructure in the region, particularly in the UAE,” says Mamoun Masarweh, regional business development manager at Air Miles.

“Local hosting also provides the same working environment, better connectivity through fewer internet hubs/nodes and, most importantly, serves our future plans, such as database hosting and expansion into other countries in the Middle East,” he adds.

The ASPGulf hosting solution that Air Miles has opted for is built on a fully managed redundant infrastructure that commands high availability and the necessary bandwidth. It also comprises software components such as Tier-1 back up agents and an antivirus suite to protect content.
