Anglo-Dutch IT provider, LogicaCMG, and Swedish telecoms equipment supplier, Ericsson, have jointly secured three contracts for SMS and cell broadcast solutions in Nigeria.

The deals will see Ericsson reselling LogicaCMG’s messaging and cell broadcast products to mobile operators Nitel, Reltel and Starcomm.

LogicaCMG said the move underlined its growing presence on the African continent, following the merger between the two IT firms, Logica and CMG, earlier this year. The company claims to now have a customer base of 35 mobile operators in Africa.

“We are now more engaged than ever in Africa, with a strong local presence and a network of offices and agents,” says Fintan Supple, sales director Africa, LogicaCMG Wireless Networks.
