Ericsson Business Consulting, the Swedish equipment vendor’s advisory arm for network operators, has opened an office in the UAE to meet increasing demand for its services.

The move will see Ericsson establishing a local base in the Middle East for the division, within its main office in the Al-Moosa Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.

“We’re seeing a big rise in terms of services in three or four areas; strategy, marketing services; security, fraud and revenue assurance, and operational effectiveness,” says Paul Hyde, head of Ericsson Business Consulting, MUME and North Africa.

Originally, the Business Consulting operation, which sits within Ericsson’s global services unit, drew resources for the Middle East from the vendor’s Swedish headquarters and its global competency centre in Ireland, as and when they were needed.
