To mark Ethernet’s 30th anniversary, 3Com is offering customers an opportunity to purchase its Gigabit switches at a reduced price. The vendor is touting rebates of 40% for switches and 50% for modules.

To qualify for these list price reductions, users must purchase products through an accredited 3Com reseller, during the June 2-July 13 promotion window.

“Upgrading to a Gigabit network increases the speed of the network so employees can access information more efficiently, and enables a company to make full use of bandwidth-intensive applications such as customer relationship management or e-learning,” says Stanimira Koleva, channel sales director, 3Com International.

“With this Gigabit promotion, we are offering our customers the opportunity to relieve the hindrance of network bottlenecks at aggressive prices, without compromising on functionality,” she adds.

3Com’s SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 family and 3Com Switch 4060 and 4050 are among the products included in the promotion. Furthermore, the vendor’s Gigabit switches incorporate its XRN technology, which is designed to allow users to pay as their networks grow.
