Etisalat’s internet service provider (ISP) business unit, Emirates Internet & Multimedia (EIM) is continuing its quest to drive domestic customers towards its broadband services.

Between June 16th and July 15th, EIM will give new customers to the 384 Kbits service to make total savings of Dhs625.

People signing up for the service will be able to register for free, at a saving of Dhs200 for ADSL or Dhs250 for the cable registration, whilst also receiving 50% off the fixed monthly fee of Dhs250 for the first three months.

“The UAE currently has almost 19,000 domestic broadband subscribers and this number is growing rapidly,” says Maroua Naim, general manager, EIM.

“With applications including video streaming and gaming, it is becoming more essential if users wish to use the Internet to its full advantage,” he adds.

The 384 Kbits/s is a major focus area for EIM as it attempts to drive the volume of ADSL subscribers up across the Emirates. Although the ISP does have other faster broadband services available in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the current offer only extends to the 384 Kibts/s service.

Customer taking advantage of this offer will be obliged to purchase the ADSL or cable internet modem from Etisalat. This will be at a cost of Dhs275 for the ADSL modem, or Dhs325 for the cable modem if they receive the Internet through the cable infrastructure.
