Sahm Technologies, the technology arm of Emaar Properties, is set to unveil new Internet, telephony and TV services for its residential subscribers. The services will be deployed over an extensive Internet Protocol (IP)-based fibre-optic infrastructure and cover most of the real estate company’s properties like Emirates Hills, Dubai Marina, Arabian Ranches, The Springs, The Meadows and The Lakes.

“Since its launch last year, Sahm Technologies’ performance has been outstanding,” says Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO of Sahm Technologies. “Sahm was created for the purpose of bringing exciting new ideas to technology and communications that can be leveraged to complement the unique and convenient living experience we provide to all of Emaar Properties’ residents.”

As part of its upgrades, Sahm is increasing the number of channels available to its subscribers and improving its telephony and internet access services by adding several features. A high bandwidth IP-based network currently provides Sahm’s subscribers with high-speed access. The company also claims that its subscribers will soon be able to access and control their home appliances, from anywhere in the world, through the Internet.

“The ‘smart home’ is now a reality,” says Bhatnagar. “Our subscribers can now enjoy over 200 cable TV channels, advanced telephony and the internet with the benefit of only having to deal with one service provider, which is both cost effective and convenient. In the near future, our subscribers will also witness the birth of many advanced features such as Video on Demand (VoD), Game on Demand (GoD) and interactive TV.”
