Telecoms equipment provider Alcatel has completed its contract to install a range of communications systems within the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

The move, which was handled by Alcatel’s local business partner Al Futtaim Telecom, saw the implementation of an Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 voice communications server, hospitality-specific telephone handsets for the guestrooms, radio paging systems, walkie-talkie systems and a management system from FCS.

The deal also involves a 24x7 maintenance contract covering spare parts and labour, and has been geared towards seamlessly interconnecting the hotel to the existing Hyatt Regency Dubai system to provide transparent functionality between the two sites.

The call centre, implemented by Al-Futtaim Telecom into the Hyatt Regency Dubai system, can handle Gulf-wide reservation calls.
