The Oberoi group of hotels is in the process of co branding and marketing its properties with hospitality majors, Four Seasons and Hilton. It is believed that the Hilton tie-up will be for Oberoi’s up-market business brand, Trident, while Four Seasons will be tied up with the Oberoi brand. The management control will continue with the current team under the chairmanship of PRS Oberoi
A news report quotes a source as saying presently the deal is a strategic marketing alliance, with an option for either or both of these chains to pick up an equity stake in the group in future. The amount of equity stake has yet to be decided.
However, it is not clear if this tie-up will include Oberoi’s international properties in Jeddah, Khamis Mashayt, Makkah, Egypt, Indonesia, Mauritius and Australia.
