Dubai-based production company Rahbani Productions has entered into a joint venture with the Malaysian film support service company F.E.G. Enterprise to help boost the commercial film industry in the Middle East. The deal will see Rahbani launch a range of high-end audio-visual equipment into the market including the ARRI 435ES camera package and the Intelligent Motion Network system.

“We have invested heavily to bring these top-of-the-line systems to this part of the world,” says Vishnu Gur, executive director, Rahbani Productions. “The high quality camera and lens systems that we have launched are among the most sophisticated audio-visual equipment and systems used by international movie studios and producers.”

Gur believes the alliance represents a great opportunity to support the development of the commercial film production industry in the region, particularly in Dubai where the market is estimated to be worth Dhs 60-70 million.

“We are committed to supporting Dubai’s emergence and growth as a regional hub for commercial film production,” he says. “The market for audio-visual productions is growing at a fast pace; the number of major and minor production houses has almost doubled to 30 from what it was three years ago. Through our partnership with F.E.G. Enterprise, we hope to further enhance our own leadership in the field of commercial TV productions and encourage others to enter this exciting arena.”

“F.E.G. Enterprise is dedicated to promoting the growth of the film industry in a number of countries around the world,” adds Al Kana, chairman of F.E.G. Enterprise. “With this new arrangement we hope to establish a one-stop centre in Dubai for the purchase as well as rental of high quality film equipment.”
