Acer is expanding its partner sales training scheme in Egypt, due to increasing demand from resellers in the country. The Acer Certified Sales Professional (ACSP) programme has proven so popular with Egyptian partners that most training sessions have been over-subscribed.

“Egypt has been a highly successful market for Acer, with high levels of interest in our products and great support from our reseller network here,” said Basem Ewaiwi, regional sales manager, CIS & East Mediterranean, Acer ME. “We believe that our long-term success lies in providing IT solutions through a network of highly-trained sales professionals and will continue to invest in our ACSP program for Egypt.”

The ACSP programme is designed to provide resellers with the expertise to sell Acer products, and insight into how the product lines will develop. There are four modules available, one each for commercial PCs, Servers, TravelMate Notebooks and Aspire Desktops and Notebooks. Resellers can train in any module they wish, and can become certified after completion of training and testing.

“The primary objective of the ACSP programme is to build on Acer’s customer-centric philosophy. We want to ensure that our sales teams, both internal and external, are ready to act as IT consultants rather than merely as sales people,” said Ewaiwi.

Among the companies that have already taken advantage of the scheme are Mantrac, Egyptcomp and Compuserve. Acer’s commitment to training has proven to be very popular in the region, and the company was recently awarded “Superbrand” status by Reader’s Digest.

“Acer is a global brand with a reputation for excellence, both in terms of innovation and customer service. We achieve this by ensuring that our frontline channel sales representatives fully understand how these strategic values translate to the customer, and this has to be reinforced with regular training,” explained Krishna Murthy, general manager, Acer Computer ME. “Our training programme is the cornerstone of our strategy to ensure that customers receive world-class standards of support and service.”
