Samsung Electronics launched several new products at CeBit this year to reinforce its stand that digital convergence was the key to moving forward. Products showcased include the world’s largest TFT-LCD television with 54-inch screen, a GPRS watch phone, HDD digital camcorder and several other digital products

Staying ahead in an era when connectivity and digital convergence are totally ubiquitous will not be an easy task for any manufacturer,” commented Jong Yong Yun, vice chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics at CeBIT. “Although Samsung Electronics has the ability to remain a leading electronics manufacturer, we will keep – and grow – our position only if we maintain our lead by manufacturing core components and wireless communication, combined with a management culture that can successfully tackle enormous change.”

Four of Samsung’s latest products – the SPH-i330, PDA mobile phone, the 15-inch 152T TFT-LCD monitor, the 50-inch PDP Home Theatre System and the VP-D590i Digital Camcorder – were awarded the Industrie Forum (iF) Design Award.
