Qatar Airways heads up North

Manchester, the cultural and sporting hotbed of provincial England, will soon be served by four weekly Qatar Airways flights.

Residents of Northern England will be delighted by the news that Qatar Airways is to begin flights to Manchester from Doha. From April 2, the premier city of the North West will be served by four weekly flights.

Manchester will become Qatar’s fortieth destination and the UK as a whole will now be served from Doha by 15 flights per week. “The flights to Manchester mean that Qatar Airways’ customers can now enter the UK via Heathrow or Manchester,” said Ali al Rais, regional manager for the Arabian Peninsula, Iran and the CIS.

Qatar Airways will initially be using a twin-engined, wide-bodied Airbus A300-600R aircraft on its Doha-Manchester route, with 224 seats in a three class configuration. The service will have 12 seats in First Class, 18 in Business Class and 194 in Economy.

Qatar Airways will operate to Manchester from Dubai every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The bulk of passengers are likely be leaving from Dubai, catching the connecting flight in Doha.

On Tuesdays and Saturdays, flight QR115 will leave Dubai International Airport at 23.45 arriving in Doha for the connecting flight to Manchester – QR041 – which leaves at 01.25 every Wednesday and Sunday, arriving in Manchester at 06.25.

On Mondays and Thursdays, flight QR101 departs Dubai International at 10.30 arriving in Doha for the connecting flight to Manchester – QR043 – which departs Doha International at 12.35 and arrives in Manchester at 17.55.

There will also be connecting flights from Abu Dhabi airport.
