Microsoft has released the second beta version of Office 2003, which is expected to be released after the summer. The system can now be downloaded via Microsoft’s web site.

Seven core Office System products are provided in the beta evaluation kit, including beta 2 versions of the new Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access), Microsoft Office FrontPage, Microsoft Office InfoPath, Microsoft Office OneNote, Microsoft Office Publisher and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2.0.

The company says this range has been included in one bundle in order to make it easier to download and assess the products. "By offering them together for the first time we are giving customers the opportunity to experience firsthand how deploying the Microsoft Office System can improve communication and collaboration across enterprises — large and small,” says Mohammed Kateeb, managing director, Microsoft Middle East.

“We are [also] proud to say that these products also all support Arabic, which is a further demonstration of our commitment to the language,” he adds. “Arabic is now a Tier 1 language for the company internationally. In effect, this means a worldwide commitment to deliver on Arabic requirements, on par with other key world languages.”
