Electrical and IT retailer Jacky’s Electronics is expanding its product portfolio, through a new deal with Sun Microsystems. Jacky’s will promote and sell Sun’s infrastructure, office productivity and security solutions through its web site, to target mid-market customers in the region.

The partnership is being facilitated by Tech Access, Sun’s channel development partner in the Middle East. Jawad Ahmed, marketing manager at Tech Access said the deal was part of an online marketing strategy that Sun is pushing in the region, by linking up with established partners to promote its range.

“Sun is implementing a long-term, Middle East-specific online marketing strategy that has clear and consistent objectives, based on the needs of a wide range of companies in the region,” he said. “With this online association, we are confident that the alliance will deliver world-class benefits for customers.”

The retailer already has a wide range of IT products available through its web site, including Dell and Compaq servers. The site will be used as a showcase for Sun products, and the products will also be promoted through Jacky’s email newsletter.

“Adding Sun products to our shelves will reinforce our customers’ faith in our ability to continually expand the wide range of solutions and varied brands that we have in store,” said Ashish Panjabi, general manager of Jacky’s.
