APC Middle East concluded its latest reseller promotion at the end of January, with a five-day trip to Germany. Resellers and distributors collected ‘euromiles’ to win their place on the trip, which took in three days of training and education on APC products in Munich, followed with a two-day skiing trip to the Bavarian Alps.

“2002 was a tough year for many global IT companies,” said Philip Hughes, general manager of APC Middle East. “Here in the Middle East we saw continued strong sales growth, an expansion of our warehousing operations in Jebel Ali, as well as the successful launch of our innovative new PowerStruXure systems. This strong performance was a direct result of the tremendous efforts of our loyal Reseller and Channel Partner teams. The EuroMiles Promotion has given us the chance to offer the most in depth product training for their partners that APC ME have ever undertaken. In addition, we were able to enjoy the Ski-slopes of Austria to give our partners a week that they will never forget!”

As many of the partners had never even seen snow before, according to Hughes, the attendees enrolled for two days of ski school to learn how to handle the slopes, which also luckily saved them from any injuries.

The trip also included the second annual APC ME partner awards. Among the winners were Bluebell Computers, Dubai, which won reseller of the year; reseller salesman of the year went to Feroz Akhtar of Micropoint Dubai; rookie of the year went to Protec of Cairo; Mustafa Kutubji of Key Information Dubai won product manager of the year; distributor of the year was Aptec Dubai; HPP of the year was Computer Engineering World Yemen; highest growth performance of the year was Compuworld Cairo and project win of the year went to Software & Peripherals World of Damascus.
