Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers has migrated from its old analogue phone system with the implementation of a Mitel SX 2000 PABX. The system supports 1800 phone spots in guest rooms, service points and management offices.

“We at the hotel continuously strive to raise our level of services to unbeatable levels and provide our guests with the latest state-of-art technologies,” says Omar Qadourri, general manager of the Beach Rotana Hotel & Tower.

“The migration of the old telephone system to this advanced one will avail our valued guests with new effective features and is an indication of the lengths that we go to satisfy them,” adds Qadouri.

The implementation, which was carried out by Mitel’s local partner Emircom, was completed without any down time to the telephone services.

“Ensuring the consistency of the service and avoiding any interception in the hotel’s phone service upon migration was a major concern to us to avoid any discomfort to the hotel’s guests,” comments Qadouri.

The Mitel SX 2000 PABX supports both analogue and digital communications. The system offers several features that make it particularly suitable for hotel PABX, including personalised voice mail system for guests, messaging calls when guests are off site and call accounting. The SX 2000 also interfaces with common hotel management applications to generate call reports.

“The challenge that Emircom managed to [overcome] was to [the] smooth migration form the old PABX system to the new one without any down time or service interception for this large number of internal phone extensions,” explains Micheal Sawaya, managing director of Emicrom.
