Jordan’s Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) has announced the roll out of CRM solutions, a move that is being hailed as Jordan’s first step towards e-government. The project will use ACCPAC’s CRM solutions to enable greater communications and support for customers of the zone. ASEZA is looking to attract $6 billion of foreign investment, and the authority hopes that with a CRM solution will provide the tools to draw in that investment.

“The deployment of powerful technologies is part of the first phase of our development plan, aimed at ensuring a seamless and trouble-free access to the authority workflow, procedures, information and staff, around the clock, and from anywhere around the world.” said Louay Khatib, ASEZA’s director for business development and marketing. “A technology infrastructure built with the customer focus at its heart is what we believe is our ticket to a successful business expansion.

“We have a great location and a very advanced transport infrastructure. Our next step is to develop the communication and customer support platform that supports current and future investors and ACCPAC eCRM allows us to achieve this objective,” he continued.

The ASEZA, established in August 2001, includes both Aqaba Port, Aqaba international airport and has road links to the rest of Jordan. A simplified regulatory framework makes it easier for businesses to set up within the zone, and the aim now is to provide the zone with the means to attract those businesses.

Marc Van der Ven, general manager of ACCPAC Middle East commented: “This is a new and unique differentiated approach taken by a government body towards servicing the public. Along with boosting its efficiency, ASEZA decided that delighting investors is a priority for the success of its plans. We are proud to be part of that program and we are working closely with our partners in Jordan to ensure the successful roll out of the application.”
