Ritz-Carlton has taken the wraps off the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa, its fiftieth property worldwide and fourth in the Middle East. The new property, previously called Le Royal Meridien Bahrain is located three miles from the center of Manama in a 20 acre seafront development area.

The hotel’s facilities include a spa, a sporting club with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a 22 berth private marina. The seven story, 264 room hotel also includes 24,000 square feet of meeting space.

A 24 month, ‘multi-million dollar’ restoration project is now underway, during which the hotel will remain fully operational. Work includes the construction of 23 deluxe, three bedroom villas, each with their own private swimming pool.

Simon Cooper, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, called the new hotel, “an impressive and important addition to the collection of five star hotels and resorts managed by Ritz-Carlton around the world.”

The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain is owned by the International Hotel Establishment.
