More mobile phones from Samsung

Samsung Electronics has unveiled four new mobile phones in the market, and another 12-15 are scheduled for release next year.

Samsung Electronics has unveiled four new mobile phones in the market, and another 12-15 are scheduled for release next year. With this, the company aims to secure its position in the Middle East market.

“In the Middle East, we already rank number two in terms of total demand,” DK Byeon, managing director, Samsung Gulf Electronics (SGE) said. “The launch of our latest range of innovative phones will play a key role in consolidating and growing the company’s share of the regional mobile phone market. This year we aim to boost our market share by 100 per cent in the region.”

Among the new models is the Samsung SGH-T500, a high-end mobile phone designed exclusively for women. It comes with a 32-cubic decorated external LCD and 128x128 high resolution internal, and has a large colour screen that doubles as a make-up mirror, The phone’s special features include a calorie calculator, 40 polyphonic ring-tones, a mood and biorhythm indicator and a scheduler.

“We firmly believe in our consumers and our research showed that female customers wanted a phone that reflected their personality – elegant, stylish, and very feminine – yet equally modern and boasting the latest technology. This gave birth to T-500 mobile phones,” Steve Han, senior manager-Telecommunications, Samsung Gulf Electronics (SGE), said.

Two other models — the SGH-T200 and the SGH-T400 — feature colour screen technology. According to Byeon, “colour screen phones will augment sales as they carry the most favoured features”.

“The launch of Samsung’s latest range of colour TFT-LCD mobile phones will serve to re-ignite the regional mobile communications industry. As the global technology leader, and among the largest manufacturers of mobile phones, Samsung aims to differentiate its products by constantly incorporating new and innovative design and technology elements that deliver tangible value to customers,” he added.
