Doha Bank has announced that it is to implement Misys International Banking Systems’ iPortal e-Banking and Meridian middleware platforms. The solution will allow the bank to add to existing range of delivery channels.

“As part of our ongoing strategy of providing enhanced services to our customers anywhere, anytime, we are planning to implement an internet banking service for both corporate and retail customers based on the latest secure and proven technology. After evaluating a number of solutions, we have chosen iPortal from Misys International Banking Systems because of its combination of technology, flexibility and reliability,” says Salah Jaidah, general manager, Doha Bank.

“As the internet business is mission critical, we were also concerned that the partner we chose should have the size and commitment necessary to ensure a long term solution with excellent support,” he adds.

The bank has already enhanced the network infrastructure and it is in the process of implementing internet security systems in order to provide a foundation for the e–banking initiative.

“Misys’ iPortal solution will be used to deliver Internet services across a wide range of business areas. To achieve the reliable and seamless integration required for the support of quality customer services, Doha Bank is also acquiring Meridian middleware from Misys. In addition to providing guaranteed delivery of information between systems, Meridian middleware is designed specifically for financial messaging and is already integrated with iPortal. This interface will be automatically upgraded when new versions of iPortal are implemented in the future. In combination with the tools in iPortal, Meridian middleware will ensure rapid roll out of new services on the internet and other delivery channels,” explains Mark Davey, Misys’ regional director.
