Exclusive SMS portal for Batelco customers

infoME portal allows Batelco mobile phone customers to receive information and send SMS messages through the web site.

Bahrain mobile phone users can now receive diverse information services on their cell phones as well as send bilingual SMS messages to other mobile phone users across the globe, thanks to the joint efforts of Info2cell and Bahrain’s GSM operator Batelco.

“www.infome.com.bh extends the possibilities of SMS and future messaging services by providing a dedicated portal that uses the combined strengths of the Web and mobile phones to offer an amazing choice of services to mobile phone customers,” stated Bashar Dahabra, founder and CEO, Info2cell.com. He added that the tie-up would bring the number of GSM operators across the region with Info2cell services to eight. “We also plan to add a host of new services to the infoMe portal,” added Dahabra.

InfoME customers can log in with their mobile phone numbers and personalised passwords to access services such as picture messaging, downloading ring-tones, receiving customised information on mobile phones and personalising the alert settings of each channel.

“Making these infromation services available on our customers' mobile phones is a significant milestone in Batelco's quest to build an 'intelligent Kingdom' in Bahrain by using modern info-communications technologies,” stated Esam Zainal, senior manager – Batelco Product Development.

Info2cell.com in association with Batelco is also announcing the re-launch of Batelco infoME WAP Portal, which is synchronised with the infoME Web Portal. Customers, who are on the move, can log onto infoME WAP portal from their mobile phones to gain access to more detailed information about specific SMS messages that they receive on their mobile handsets.

Batelco mobile phone customers can also send bilingual Web-to-SMS messages from a web interface to any mobile phone through the infoME website. Customers can time the sending of messages, create address book of contacts as well as enjoy facilities like organizing time with the infoME calendar.

infoME will provide Batelco’s post-paid mobile customers with a new facility in Bahrain to send ring tones of top Arabic and English songs to their mobile handsets. Mobile phone customers can register online by visiting www.infome.com.bh and choose one of the three packages available. Customers can also keep track of their account, change packages, and activate or deactivate auto renewals.
