HP’s networking arm , Procurve Networking, claimed that a strong performance in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region has spurred its overall growth and enabling it to take over as the world’s second largest enterprise networking vendor in revenue, ports and power over ethernet (PoE), according to a report by market research firm Dell’Oro Group.

ProCurve reported that its number of ports shipped in the EMEA rose 18% year-on-year for the third quarter of 2006, up 34.7% from the second quarter of 2006.

“We attribute our success in the region to a number of factors, including a very successful launch in August of our new stackable switches,” said Alberto Soto Garcia, vice president and general manager, HP ProCurve.
