Acer shows strong growth

Acer is trumpeting figures from IDC that suggest it is the quickest growing top five PC vendor in the EMEA region. According to the analyst house, Acer’s shipments in Q3 2002 were up 19% on the same quarter of last year.

Acer is trumpeting figures from IDC that suggest it is the quickest growing top five PC vendor in the EMEA region. According to the analyst house, Acer’s shipments in Q3 2002 were up 19% on the same quarter of last year.

IDC says, “Acer displayed another strong quarter in EMEA, consolidating its position in the overall ranking. Continued and successful focus on the SMB and notebook markets, as well as a close relationship with its channel partners, is among the major contributing factors for Acer’s success.”

Krishna Murthy, general manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd, adds that “Acer is growing quickly and confidently across EMEA, and the Middle East is contributing heavily to this growth, with its focus on the SMB and notebook segments of the industry.”
