Redington, the wholesale distributor, has been celebrating recognition by two of its main partners at Gitex. The distributor won both HP’s Wholesaler of the Year award and received praise from Canon at the show.

“All along, Redington has been a consumer products partner for classic Compaq and HP. After the HP-Compaq merger, Redington has performed extremely well demonstrating an in-depth understanding of our product portfolio and new technologies. Indeed, Redington truly deserves the HP Wholesaler of the Year Award for 2002,” said Christoph Schell, general manager of HP Middle East’s Personal Systems Group.

The award was made to Redington against stiff competition for its work in building the HP brand in the Gulf, and for strong sales revenues. Redington has also received a number of awards from HP for its efforts in some of the other territories where Redington operates.
For Canon, Redington is a wholesale distribution partner for the UAE, where the company has been improving the brand awareness of Canon among its channel partners, as well as driving large sales, according to Gordon Jones, president of Canon Middle East.

“Redington has been successfully enhancing the image of the Canon brand in the country. Canon has further reinforced its partnership with Redington, recognising their business contribution and significant growth in sales revenues,” Jones said.

Raj Shankar, director of Redington commented: “Redington enjoys a unique and strategic relationship with Canon. We are happy with what we have accomplished for Canon peripheral products business in the UAE. Winning the HP Wholesaler of the Year Award has been the crowning glory in our effort to think and work beyond IT. Redington, with strong financial fundamentals, innovative marketing strategies and technical support has major plans to further augment our partnerships.”
